Dunwoody High School (DHS) has varsity and junior varsity (JV) tennis teams for both boys and girls. Students from eighth grade (Peachtree Charter Middle School) through twelfth grade may try out to participate in the tennis program. Tryouts for all teams are conducted together. The student athletes are evaluated by the coaches for placement on the varsity and junior varsity teams.
The varsity teams practice and play home matches at the DHS courts. The JV teams practice at Georgia State University courts and play home matches at Vermack.
Each competition has three lines of singles and two lines of doubles, which count towards the team score. Exhibition matches may also be played at the discretion of the coaches and the opponents’ coaching staff.
There is a banquet at the end of the season for the student athletes and their parents to celebrate the season. All members of the varsity teams receive their letter at that time.
